🌴 Health Benefits of Palm Oil (revised)

Few years ago during the early 2000s, in what appears to be an independent search. Researchers from Monash University (Australia) and University of Uyo (Nigeria) started to analyze the key components that make palm oil so unique and both came up with strikingly similar conclusions: 
It is one of the few fatty fruits in existence, it’s likely to hold a substantial place in the human diet and is the second most consumed vegetable oil in the world. It is different from other plant and animal oils in its fatty acid composition (50% saturated, 40% unsaturated, and 10% polyunsaturated). 

Where coconut oil has around 90% MCFA’s (fat your body can easily burn for energy) palm oil only contains around 50% MCFA’s. 

But in addition to MCFA’s, palm oil is also loaded with the following phytonutrients: 
Carotenoids (alpha-,beta-,and gamma-carotenes) 
Sterols (sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol) 
Vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols) 
Water-soluble powerful antioxidants, phenolic acids and flavonoids

Palm oil has a high content of HDL and LDL cholesterol, but even though one is good (HDL) and the other is bad (LDL), it can still create a healthier balance in your body. High levels of LDL cholesterol can increase your chances of atherosclerosis, which can cause strokes and heart attacks. By maintaining a healthy balance of cholesterol (both of which you need in your body), you can ensure a healthier cardiovascular system.

Prevents Cancer

Tocopherols, which are types of vitamin A, are natural antioxidants. Antioxidants, as mentioned above, are powerful defensive compounds that can prevent cancer by neutralizing free radicals. Free radicals cause healthy cells to mutate into cancerous cells, so high levels of tocopherol and palm oil are necessary.

Vitamin deficiencies are some of the most dangerous conditions that can face pregnant women and their unborn children. Vitamin A, D, and E are found in considerable quantities in palm oil, and since the body cannot naturally retain these vitamins, it is necessary to consume them in our diets.
