How do I start a Business?

Business according to the dictionary is defined as a process of buying and selling. That is exchange of a thing for money.
But I personally define business as providing solutions for problems in exchange for money.

But many people are faced with the problem of 'WHAT BUSINESS DO I START'.
Starting a business is not difficult what you have to do to start a lucrative business is looking around you and discover what people need around you that is not readily available to them and look for where to get them and sell to them in exchange for money. I hear somebody say 'Easier said than done'. Business is very easy when you have the right mindset. Many people are shy to do business but they love money so much. Some will think what people will say about them when they start business. I was once like that. Do away with those dirty mindset and advertise your self and wares shamelessly.

As I earlier said the easiest way to know the business to start is to find out the needs of people around you and provide it for them in exchange for cash. Then take it to God in prayers and ask him if He supports it.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT PEOPLE NEEDS?

Listen when interactions are going on and know people's pain points or complaints. And look for a way to solve that problem. For example you here working class women complain on the stress of running around to make sure there children are safe after school and you are a housewife and need extra income. You know you are very good with kids just discuss it with your husband and if he permits you, just meet those women and offer after school services to them for a fee, I bet you they will grab it with both hands and if you do very well they will recommend you to friends and from there you have opened your own daycare school (Creché).

Secondly, there are women who supplies launch packs for some parents for balanced diet,  Monday to Friday to customers  kids in school.

Apart from after school services you can also do before school services. Some parents don't have car and sometimes find it difficult to transport their kids to school. Identify those parents and offer to drive their kids and yours to school for a fee.

BUYING AND SELLING

So for those of us that wants to do buying and selling and don't have capital. Hmmm, a tough one but let's ride on.
You need capital and you don't know how to get it. Don't go borrowing to start a business. It's not advisable. Just look around your house there's something you don't need that you can sell and start a business. When I wanted to start my importation business I had to sell the sewing machine I bought with my first "alawee" (allowance) as a corper then for 25,000 naira. I used it to import my first children's clothes. When the clothes came back "oga" (Husband) saw that it was quality clothes and bought every thing for his children and I made sure I bough their sizes. Then the capital tripled.

Secondly, you have identified the problem, and have seen the solution. You meet the people with the solution and collect the solution at a price offer it to those that have the problem at your own fee and return the money to the person. Last week my customers needed girls shoes and I didn't have. I met a woman that sells collected the shoes on credit from her showed her my house and sold to my customers, when they paid I transferred the money to the owner of the shoes.

YOU CAN STILL BE WORKING AND HAVE SIDE BUSINESS THAT WON'T DISTURB YOUR WORK IT'S CALLED EARNING ON THE WORK.

For example you are a banker and it seems your salary is not enough, how do you get more cash that won't affect your work or make you embark on fraudulent activities. As a banker one of the requirements for getting loans is to present a well documented account books for your business most business men and women don't know how to prepare these books. Get their contact and offer to help them prepare the books of account and after that if they get the loan they will recommend you to their fellow business men and women as their accountant.

AS A STUDENT

As a student there are ways you can earn extra income.
You can buy jewelries at cheapest prices, shoes at cheapest prices and sell to your fellow students. How do you do this take them to lecture halls after lectures display your wares to them.

Secondly the one I used and hammer (financial breakthrough) in school. I looked for past questions of all courses, identify the ones that the lecturers repeat questions every year and answer them and offer it to students that have no time to read.

Thirdly, some lecturers in the process of lecturing, they drop likely questions for exams and give answers to them. Make sure you write them out and later compile them and call it 'EXAM QUESTIONS AND ANSWER'.

In conclusion, you need Jesus to be successful in any business you are doing because by strength shall no man prevail. With Jesus in your life and business loss is insured by him.
